The list below catalogs the informants for the songs in the Heritage Songbook.
The emphasis is on lyrics, but where tunes were found in the Upper Midwest, I have
listed sources for those also. The list includes both songs in the printed Heritage
Songbook and those in the online appendix (shown in italics). Note: I have not
tried to catalog all the "pop" songbooks I consulted; the books cited here are only
those consisting of field collections or publications of early sheet music.
